Vermont DLC Launches Its First Rare
Bourbon & Rye Sweepstakes
MONTPELIER, VT - December 22, 2016
After months of planning, the Vermont Department of Liquor Control (DLC) has launched its first Rare Bourbon and Rye Sweepstakes. “The DLC is very pleased to announce this sweepstakes which is open to Vermont residents and provides the opportunity for winners to purchase one of nine very rare bourbons and ryes.” said DLC Commissioner Patrick Delaney. “Our goals in creating this sweepstakes are to provide Vermonters with a fun opportunity to obtain these highly sought after bourbons and ryes, and do so in a fair and transparent manner.” Commissioner Delaney added.
There are two categories, one for Vermont consumers and one for Vermont Liquor Licensees (restaurants and bars). Winners will have the opportunity to purchase a bottle at their local DLC retail Agency. Entries will be accepted from December 21st, 2016 to January 12th, 2017 at midnight, with the drawing taking place on Friday, January 13th, 2017. A list of all winners will be posted at the 802Spirits website and 802Spirits Facebook page, and all winners will be notified by email. Delivery to DLC Agents will occur during January 2017. Entrants are allowed to enter once for each of the nine products listed, but are eligible to win only a single bottle from the sweepstakes. Winners will be required to show proof of Vermont residency upon purchase. Licensees will be required to provide their DLC issued license.
These products are highly requested and available in very limited quantities in Vermont and worldwide. The listing includes the 2016 bottlings of Pappy Van Winkle in 10, 12, 15 and 20 year ages, and in the Buffalo Trace Antique collection: Sazarec 18-year Rye, Thomas Handy Rye, William LaRue Weller Bourbon, George T. Stagg Bourbon and Eagle Rare 17-year Bourbon. To enter go to the 802Spirits website (http://802spirits.com/content/802spirits-rare-spirits-sweepstakes). Prices vary by product.
